A young girl develops an ability, only ever since in an manga comic book.  Now she must figure out what to do with the power she has discovered as she struggles to not only find her own identity, but her place in the world as well.

"Clear Your Mind" in an anime inspired live action film.  It has a very colorful look to it, while keeping some of the less glamorous aspects of being a "nerd" or "geek".  It has a lighthearted part to it that resembles that of "shouju" manga and anime, and at the same time it has a serious tone that reflects that process of finding one self through growing up and maturing.

 A series of mysterious events lead three young people to try and figure out the cause in order to put and end before the mysterious "Ancient One" wakes up from his slumber and destroys everything in its path.  They are forced to "close gates" which lowly make them loose their sanity, fight mosters which chip away at their stamina, all while trying not to get lost in time and space.

This short film is based on the mythos that surrounds the Arkham Horror Board Game, which, in itself, is based of off H.P. Lovecraft's horror writting.    The film uses terminology specifi to the game and the stories.  It references monsters, events, and elements that are seen in the game.  It also follows a similar order to that of the game in terms of how each round/ turn would play out in the game as it builds up the story to an conclusion that will leave you wanting more.  

The Crime That I Live In

Coping with the loss of a loved one is never an easy thing' especially when that person was taken away before their time.  This short film presents a lone woman as she grieves the loss of her husband.

"The Crime That I Live In" is a short experimental film.  No dialogue and intense music force the viewer to explore the psycology of a woman grive stricken.  

​

Eduardo Avila and Blake Heffelfinger worked as a team to bring this extremly short film to life.  Shot on location in an apartment in Winter Park, FL the films eerie nature is physyically presentd in the intensely colered lighting and heavy music that drags as the film progresses.  

The Great Feckin' Tree

After meeting a talking tree, a macho lumberjack must decide to either continue the path that he has been taught to follow his entire life or forge his own way.

"The Great Feckin' Tree"  is the thesis film for Full Sail Univeristy's July 2016 graduating class. It was written and directed by Jordan Stewart and Produced by Charity Gibson (both July 2016 grads of Full Sail).  

​

The film depicts the struggle of following the path thats been taught to us or finding that one path that we have to forge for ourselves.  It presents that duality, similar to that of fire and ice, that we all have to learn to adapt to and at the same time embrace, as it is the basic way of life.

A curious young man follows a mysterious graveyard caretaker in order to learn the stories of the people that reside in the cementery.   But... will the cementery hold more secrets be worth findidng out?

Michele Olson's screenwriting and direcotrial debut is an thriller that will leave you wanting more.   Shot on location in Greenwood Cementery, the short film showcases amazing cinematography, spectacular acting out two new to the scene actors, excellent writing, and an overall exceptionally structured story.
